MOMENTUM BUILDS FOR TAD JUDE AS SECRETARY OF STATE RACE TIGHTENS

KSTP/SurveyUSA Poll Shows Simon’s Seven-Point Lead Cut to Four as Jude Gains Ground

MINNESOTA — Team Jude is gaining ground.  The latest KSTP/SurveyUSA poll shows Republican Secretary of State nominee and former District Court Judge Tad Jude closing the gap on incumbent Steve Simon, continuing real voter movement toward Jude as Minnesota heads into the General Election.

In the first post-primary poll, Simon held a seven-point lead over Jude. Just one month later, that lead has narrowed to four points. The latest numbers put Simon at 40% and Jude at 36%, with 20% undecided. That means the race has moved three points closer in just one month — with a significant share of Minnesota voters still up for grabs and the Jude voter outreach effort is accelerating across the State.

KSTP highlighted the shift in its analysis:

“Steve Simon held a 7-point lead over GOP nominee Tad Jude in the first post-primary poll. A month later, his lead is down to 4 points.”

“. . . the narrowing overall margin has to be concerning for him when viewed in totality with the other statewide races.”

For Team Jude, the numbers add new energy to a campaign already building a statewide grassroots organization focused on reaching Minnesotans directly.

“Minnesotans are taking a closer look at this race — and we’re going to keep working for every single vote,” said Tad Jude. “We have momentum, we have an incredible grassroots team, and we have a lot of work ahead of us. Twenty percent of voters are still undecided, and I intend to earn their trust.”

Jude is campaigning on cracking down on fraud, strengthening confidence in Minnesota’s elections, and giving Minnesotans an opportunity to vote on restoring Minnesota’s Historic State Flag.
