TAD ON THE ISSUES

I am committed to reducing regulations, promoting free-market principles, and ensuring a secure border to uphold the safety and prosperity of our nation.

Together, let's work towards a future where every American has the opportunity to thrive.

ECONOMY

Eating out has doubled, groceries have doubled, sales tax is up, gas tax is up, fees are up. The size of the state government is now 40% bigger. Ask yourself: have you had a 40% increase in your paycheck? Do young people today have a good opportunity to buy a car of their choice? Own a home? Do young people today have a decent chance to go out and get a start? I will fight for an opportunity-economy, where government isn’t a burden but gets out of the way.

UNCONTROLLED BORDERS

Our border is broken. Our asylum laws must be repaired. Unfortunately, the Feds have developed a catch and release program where more than 7 million undocumented immigrants from across the globe have collapsed the southern border leading to chaos in public services such as: housing, healthcare, and schools. Unfortunately, our system has led to organized child trafficking and fentanyl dealers, claiming over 100,000 American lives a year. Taxpayers are footing the bill for this out-of-control illegal immigration. I support legal immigration. I support border control with a system that works for everyone.

SAFE STREETS, SAFE TRANSIT, SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS

We should be able to go to the grocery store without fear of carjacking or break-ins. Homeowners should feel secure where they live, and community police should be welcomed in local schools. Metro transit reported a 32% increase in crime last year. Unmanaged light rail and public transit need to be cleaned up for the sake of our families and our communities. As the pioneer of the state 911 emergency telephone system, I have been a longtime advocate of community safety. It has been my high priority to take politics and ideology out of criminal justice.

EDUCATION

We need strong local schools involving parents and teachers focusing on our children. I advocate for the core-competencies including reading, writing, and STEM programs to strengthen our test scores and avoid the trends to dumb-down education. We need to better appreciate teachers for the job they do.

ENVIRONMENT

We need a strong park and trail system and clean water and air available for all. As a pioneer of the Rail-to-Trail movement, spearheading the drive for the Luce Line Trail, and local parks, I also worked diligently for alternatives to landfills in our communities. This includes reducing waste, reusing items, recycling, composting, and waste-to-energy systems.

ELIMINATING BUREAUCRATIC WASTE AND FRAUD

The MN state government spent a $17 billion surplus by increasing its own size by 40%. At the federal level, every American has a share in the national debt, equal to $100,000. Our national debt of $34 trillion makes our interest payments greater than money spent on national defense. This is a national security issue. We are currently running a deficit of $2 trillion a year, yet locally we have money allocated for feeding children disappearing in the “Feeding our Future” fraud. We’ve had mismanagement of light rail construction multiply its’ cost and time at the expense of the taxpayer and our children. I will work for efficient and effectively managed taxpayer dollars.

HEALTHCARE

Our country’s healthcare system is broken. We spend twice as much as many developed countries yet have lower life expectancy. The cost of medical services is often not disclosed upfront, leaving us with a trail of incoherent bills. Our medical bills are often unaffordable, yet the HCMC administrator gets paid over $1 million a year. Property taxpayers subsidize this. Do-no-harm healthcare should be the first objective of our healthcare system.

SOCIAL SECURITY INSURANCE

We all pay into social security insurance throughout our working years. It’s important that we secure the trust fund. I support eliminating income taxes on social security to avoid unfair double taxation. Our seniors should not need to worry about the stability of this program.

LIFE, LIBERTY, PURSUIT of HAPPINESS

I believe we are all made in the image of God, and endowed by our creator with LIFE, LIBERTY, and the pursuit of HAPPINESS. This is the promise of Minnesota, and the promise of America. I will work to secure this promise.
